Today we went on a day trip to York, located an hour and a half from Perth in Western Australia. York is the oldest and first inland town in WA. It's extremely charming and feels a little like stepping back into the 1980s. Although it's summer the weather cooled down enough with a high of 26 degrees celsius, making it pleasantly cooling. I longed to go into the fields to take lots of pictures, but they were fenced off as they belonged to the farmers. If you're in Perth and have spare time, you should definitely visit York for the experience (and the view) :)

Photos taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon EF 24-105mm f4L USM lens + Canon EF 50mm f1.8 lens, edited with  Photoshop CS5.
We passed beautiful wheat/weed fields on the way to York, WA. York is part of the wheatbelt of Western Australia. The sky was this beautiful blue with little fluffy white clouds.
Penny Farthing's sweet shop in the town of York. It's lovely and quaint selling gluten-free, sugar-free and all types of candy. We bought Grandma's butterscotch fudge, pop rocks, Western Australia wildflower toffee and sour cola bomb balls. The lady at the counter said, "The cola bombs are very sour" and laughed.
The town hall of York with the Australian flag. There's a library at the town hall!
Our lunch + early tea. Seafood in a basket consisting of prawns, crabsticks, fish, and chips.
"The Works" all day breakfast which had sausages, a hashbrown, bacon, grilled tomato, two slices of toast and two eggs.
Devonshire cream tea with two scones, fresh clotted cream and raspberry preserves; and a pot of English Breakfast tea with sugar syrup and milk.
At the lookout in York. My brother doing his balancing act on top of the rock.
My sister facing the mountains. The view was spectacular.
Hoping everyone's having a wonderful start to their 2013! :) Follow me on my blog here or Facebook page here.
